new stretchers, new sketches

over the past week or so i have been working toward various ends. first and foremost is trying to organise my presentation for after easter, for which i am attempting to give an impression of my perspective and an account of my position in the visual art 'world'. i spend the best part of four days faffing around with thousands of photos which i am steadily whitytling down to some vaguely coherent animations.

another dominant element of this is the theory which on the suggestion of a tutor has led me to tackle deleuze and guattari, i am currently reading 'an introduction to the politics of desire' so to better comprehend the actual text, it is certainly a mentally taxing read, i am learning alot.

i have also made several stretchers of various shapes, something i have been wanting to do for some time now..
i felt the need to draw recently and have been trying some 'automatic' illustrations, these initially started off looking more like street maps but some seem to have taken a turn toward the three dimentional.

on the subject of maps, i think one of the large canvas' will be a new rendering of a fictitious world map and/or astronomical chart and to this affect i made five paintings on reclaimed panels.. .. one of which i quite like.

  1. Man your style has completely transformed of late - love the 3D map/abstract shapes vibe.

You should seriously invest some time in illustrator/photoshop. You could do some incredible things with the cubist like maps.
